Seriously, when's the last time you saw a book promoted with such panache—with the Royal Marines rappelling down the side of St. Pancras station and handing a copy to the author, Jeffery Deaver, as he steps out of a custom Bentley and poses next to Europe's longest bar with a model riding a vintage BSA Spitfire? After the delivery of the first few copies of Carte Blanche, published by Hodder & Stoughton, the remaining books were locked away in an undisclosed location until midnight last night, when the book was officially released—one day before what would have been Ian Fleming's 103rd birthday.
