The American offspring of the U.K.’s largest independent agency, Mother, New York has taken the same eclectic approach as its London parent. Since opening in 2003, Mother, New York has developed chewing gum ideas for novelty manufacturer Blue Q; helped turn a sausage cart, Dogmatic, into a Manhattan restaurant; and launched its own line of whiskey, White Pike. The shop, whose office is decorated with photos of employees’ mothers, also produces advertising and design for a variety of clients such as JCPenney, Virgin Mobile, Almay, Tanqueray and the Maison Gerard gallery.
