Three agencies are preparing for final presentations in the Sleepy’s creative review, with pitches slated to take place in two weeks, the retailer has confirmed.
The contenders are Havas Worldwide, Publicis Kaplan Thaler and Gotham. Each is pitching out of its New York office.
Annual media spending behind the brand is estimated at $75 million.
The finalists emerged from a broader list of about a half-dozen shops that met with Sleepy’s executives, including chief marketing officer Jeff Lobb. Roth Associates in New York is managing the search.
Historically, the mattress retailer has handled its creative and media efforts itself. In January, however, the company hired Horizon Media to plan and buy its media and now, it’s seeking a lead creative shop.
Sleepy’s, which has some 800 stores in 14 states along the East Coast, expects to complete its latest search by the end of the month.
