Dale Adams, president of Omnicom Group’s Diversified Agency Services, has taken on the additional role of DAS chief executive. Adams, 53, succeeds Thomas Harrison, 64, who continues as chairman.
Adams, long seen as Harrison’s successor, has been president of DAS since 2008, after joining Omnicom in 1991. Through organic growth and more than 200 acquisitions, he and Harrison worked together to build DAS from a core group of agencies into a network of specialty and marketing communications companies.
Harrison joined Omnicom in 1992 after the holding company acquired Harrison & Star Business Group, which he co-founded. Shortly after that deal, Harrison was named president of DAS and in 1998 was promoted to CEO and chairman of DAS, succeeding John Wren, president, CEO of Omnicom.
