The Interactive Advertising Bureau has named David Doty, former svp and CMO, to the new role of evp and CMO.
In an announcement today, the IAB said that Doty will work under IAB president and CEO Randall Rothenberg and oversee brand marketing, research and international efforts and partnerships. Doty will continue to serve as the organization’s CMO, leading marketing and events.
“David’s experience in working with government entities and similar stakeholders outside the U.S., his command of several languages, and his natural diplomatic skills position him perfectly for this new, vital role,” said Rothenberg in a statement. “In addition, his experience, insights and drive will be invaluable when it comes to leading mission-driven industry initiatives in the ever-critical brand marketing and research arenas.”
Doty joined the IAB in 2007 from Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was director of corporate branding and creative services. Prior to that, he worked in communications for more than two decades, as a journalist, author and consultant.
