What’s the first information you consume in the morning?
I’m a night owl, so I am rarely up early in the morning unless I’m on my way to work. When I wake up, I listen to my voicemails and check my text messages first.
What occupies your mind in the car, on the subway, train or bus?
I usually go over my lines in my head on the way to work or I listen to music. Lately I’ve been really into Arcade Fire, The Naked and Famous, and Robyn.
Are you a TV junkie or on an airtime-restricted diet? What do you watch?
I am definitely a TV junkie although I don’t always watch shows in real time. I usually catch up on weekends or late at night. I love 30 Rock, Sons of Anarchy, American Horror Story and Teen Mom. I’m also obsessed with Food Network. Cupcake Wars is always good. I used to watch a lot of stuff on my laptop, but I’ve gone back to the TV recently.
Before bed, do you bite into a novel, graze on Twitter or fast until morning? (And if you’re a bedtime bookworm, what are you reading right now?)
Before bed, I usually watch movies or read. I love funny books like Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler and Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris.
Tell us about your tweeting habits.
I follow my friends, but I also follow a lot of my fans. It is definitely a good way to reach them and let them know what I am up to. I tweet photos from the iCarly set so they can see behind the scenes. I also post random pictures of me and my friends on the beach, bike riding and cooking.
Which is more nutritious: print or Web? Why?
I get most of my news from the Internet, but I still love reading magazines. I have subscriptions to Vogue, Vanity Fair, Bon Appétit, Elle, People, Teen Vogue and Seventeen. For me, there’s still something nice about being able to just flip through a magazine and take it with me.
Give us the skinny on your favorite app.
I like Instagram, MovieTickets, Facebook and Twitter.
What’s your biggest digital indulgence?
I don’t have many crazy indulgences, although I am addicted to my iPhone. I also love my Bose SoundDock that plays music from my phone.
With such a bloated media universe, how do you cut out the fat?
Just spend time with all the people I love. I really like going to concerts at The Hollywood Bowl and the Palladium, trying new restaurants, and going to the Santa Monica Pier.
