New York-area fans of Soundgarden could be in for a Twitter treat, as the grunge band has teamed with American Express to make its concert tickets cheaper than a flannel shirt. If AmEx customers sync their cards up with their Twitter accounts and tweet a special hashtag, they'll get exclusive early access to $15 tickets to see Soungarden on Jan. 16 at New York's Terminal 5.
On Dec. 10, the hashtag will be revealed by AmEx on Twitter, and then consumers will have until Jan. 6 to purchase the deal. To compare, $65 advance tickets to see the band in other New York venues next month are sold out.
While it's the first exclusive concert tickets deal by AmEx, the New York-based company has recently been busier than Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil's fret hand blanketing social platforms with deals. Via its AmEx Sync program, it's been offering retail discounts via Twitter, Facebook, Foursqare and Xbox Live.
