What's old is new again.

DDB, Reebok's lead global agency between 2009 and early 2012, has been reappointed to that role at the expense of mcgarrybowen. Annual global media spending on the brand is estimated at $50 million.

The New York office of DDB will lead efforts on the account. The last time around, the lead office was Berlin, where Amir Kassaei, then executive creative director for Germany, was based.

Kassaei is now worldwide chief creative officer and based in New York. This time he sees the assigment as an "opportunity to redefine the fitness category."

Beyond traditional advertising, DDB will develop digital and social media campaigns for Reebok. The renewed agency's first work is expected in the spring.

Not affected by the shift were media planning and buying, which remain at Aegis Group's Carat.
