HHGregg is in the late stages of an advertising review, with four agencies preparing for final pitches later this month, the retailer has confirmed.
Both creative and media efforts are in play. So creative shops are partnering with media agencies to pitch the business.
HHGregg, which sells electronics and home appliances, spent more than $106 million in media last year, up slightly from $100 million in 2011, according to Nielsen. Those figures don’t include online spending.
Sources identified the creative finalists as the Chicago offices of DDB, Leo Burnett and Schafer Condon Carter and the incumbent, Zimmerman Advertising in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
HHGregg svp of marketing Jeff Pearson confirmed the review and its scope but declined to discuss the agencies. The company plans to make a selection in early May.
The retailer has some 228 stores in 20 states. Its footprint is concentrated in the Midwest and Southeast, though it also touches the Mid-Atlantic region.
Zimmerman has handled HHGregg’s creative and media business since 2007.
